Here are some links to some of our favorite sites with information on ketogenic living, health, nutrition, carnivore diet, and the like (not necessarily in order of significance). We hope you find these encouraging. Please note that we have no direct relationship with any of these authors and have no control over the content of their sites so we always recommend using wisdom, discernment and caution. If you ever notice anything that is of concern, please let us know on our Contact Page so we can review it and update as necessary. Thank you!
Dr. Ken Berry, M.D. – is our absolute favorite keto/carnivore doc! In fact, while this list of our favorite links to keto and carnivore influencers is not necessarily in any specific order, we don’t mind saying that Ken (and his wife Neisha) are our absolute favorite of the bunch. We are also regular, monthly supporters of their channel and believe in their mission to help folks. Dr. Ken is 100% real and down-to-earth, sometimes a little blunt, also full of great humor and lots of fantastic information! In fact, if you really want to know how to do a ketogenic or carnivore diet right, and not get sucked into all the scams to grab at your money, this is the channel to watch!
Dr. Shawn Baker, M.D. – Shawn’s website introduces him as “the Co-Founder of Revero and an orthopedic surgeon, world leading authority on treating disease with medical nutritional therapy, an Amazon best-selling author, world champion athlete, international speaker, podcast host, and consultant,” and he is all that but a super trustworthy voice in the health community and we love watching his YouTube videos. This guy, in his 50’s, proves every day that you can concentrate your diet on eating lots of fatty red meat and exhibit incredible health with a natural, ketogenic lifestyle. His network of health coaches are also awesome and they provide tons of great assistance to folks engaging a healthier diet path.
My Zero Carb Life (Kelly Hogan) – Kelly’s motto is “Eat the Meat, Save the Humans” and we LOVE this channel on YouTube! Kelly has been rocking a ketogenic “carnivore” diet for well over 13 years and is the picture of health! She lost over 120 pounds with this lifestyle change and we also have adopted her nickname for our favorite McDonald’s lunch option, MEAT COOKIES, which is just another way of identifying ordering a pile of ground beef patties in the drive-thru and eating them like cookies (lol). Kelly has demonstrated that it is absolutely possible to get healthy, lose weight, and raise a family on a budget by consuming an animal-based diet. Her staple food happens to be ground beef, which is also our personal favorite as well. She does lots of great interviews and she is certainly a favorite in the keto/carnivore community at large.
Nina Teicholz – Author of The Big Fat Surprise, awesome speaker and Executive Director of The Nutrition Coalition
Dr. James DiNicolantonio – Author of the amazing book The Salt Fix that explains how we’ve all been lied to about the dangers of sodium in our diets.
Maria Emmerich – one of the foremost wellness experts on the planet, with lots of great advice and recipe information on keto and carnivore diet. She has a great YouTube channel also!
Dr. Sten Ekberg – is a holistic doctor and former champion Olympic decathlete. Delves often into the interesting science of ketogenic diets and nutrition in general.
Keto Twins – YouTube influencers, Emily and Sarah, share their favorite keto recipes and their own health journey. Quite entertaining and we’ve tried a lot of the recipes they recommend.
2 Krazy Ketos – Just a couple of average folks with a YouTube channel; Rachel and Joe, share their keto journey along with interviews, recipes, and a lot of fun.
Dr Wes Cywes – Board certified physician and surgeon, known to all as “The Carb Addiction Doc” on YouTube. We love Dr. Cywes and so many of his videos have helped us.
What I’ve Learned – Not necessarily a “health site” exclusively BUT this guy has been focusing a lot on ketogenic and carnivore information and debunking the naysayers with some great content on YouTube. Really interesting videos! One of my personal favorites.
Carnivorous Chef – Reid’s YouTube channel is easily one of our favorites! He’s just a normal guy who happens to work as a real chef in a non-keto business and struggles to improve his health while sharing his journey and some of the most amazing recipes – including tons of awesome “copy-kat” varieties of favorite dishes only with a carnivore style. He also has a new cook book!
Lillie Kane – YouTube influencer with a lot of great information on the carnivore diet and her own journey to health. She’s funny, real, and has some interesting content. We love Lillie.
Practical Carnivore – we enjoy this guy’s videos on YouTube. They are simple and digestible and just a normal guy sharing what he’s learned along the way and also helps to keep folks informed about what’s going on in the food industry and how it relates to those embracing a carnivore-style diet.
Dr. Eric Berg – We actually started out following Dr. Berg’s channel on YouTube when we first started our keto journey. He has produced hundreds of great videos on nutrition and focusing on the healthy ketogenic diet. That having been said, while we love many of his videos for their nutritional perspective, we encourage a little bit of caution as he does have a website in addition to his YouTube channel that recommends a host of (his own brand) “supplements” that he advises for keto dieters. We did buy into this initially (and did not have a bad experience); however, our opinion (in hindsight) is that pills and powders are NOT necessary to thrive and succeed on a keto diet! Still, he has some really good information and we’ve benefitted a lot from his advice on numerous occasions. Full disclosure, he is not a medical doctor, but a chiropractor, and he happens to be a Scientologist, though we’ve never seen him bring his religious views into his nutritional videos ever. He also leans more to the plant-based side of keto, but is NOT vegan and does encourage eating animal-based protein and fats for optimal health.
Indigo Nili – She’s just another normal human, mom of 5 kids, who has one of most amazing alternative bread recipes in the keto community! You won’t believe it’s keto!
Chris Cooking Nashville – This is an absolute MUST check-out channel! Chris has created some of the most amazing recipes we’ve ever tried and you literally won’t believe you can make some of this stuff from only animal-based ingredients. Our first introduction to Chris was his “mashed potato” recipe that has no mashed potatoes at all BUT has the same look, texture, and even flavor of a creamy mashed potato dish! It uses eggs, cream cheese, butter and toasted gelatin and you won’t believe your eyes and mouth! We also LOVE his faux-tato salad recipe. You won’t believe it doesn’t actually contain potatoes! Good stuff!
Dr. Jason Fung – has some great information on the science of fasting! Fung does ascribe to the “Evolution” theory and perspective in some of his writings and discussion (which we, admittedly and unashamedly, do not); however, if you can avoid being distracted by that detail, his nutrition information is solid! We have his book on fasting and it’s quite good.
Keto Focus – This is popular YouTube influencer Annie Lampella’s website and she is easily one of the best resources we’ve found on the keto diet and the implementation of amazing recipes to make for this style of living. This site is like a must-have cook book for keto dieters! We highly recommend Annie’s website and her YouTube channel! Don’t miss this one!
In truth, this only scratches the surface of great content available out there, but the great part is that it is FREE and so helpful! You don’t need a fancy diet program to join or shell out all kinds of money for pills, powders, shakes, pre-made meals or snacks… You just need a little wisdom to learn how to approach a healthy nutritious lifestyle. Learning how to real food labels is also a HUGE part of things! Never trust the front label and the marketers… They will trip you up all the time! When shopping for food, an easy rule of thumb is to stick to the outside isles and steer clear (as much as possible) from the center isles of the store (where all the processed junk usually exists). Avoid seed/vegetable oils, sugar, and keep the carb counts as low as possible.
Most of all, lean on Jesus!!! He has helped my wife and I so greatly through our own transformation and we know He will help you too! If anyone has any questions, I am happy to share what I’ve learned so just write me. I’m NOT a health expert and I have no credentials behind my name, but I can share my own testimony and convictions based on my own experience and am happy to do so. Changing the way I eat has changed everything and I am compelled to believe that it could transform so many people’s lives if they would just slow down for a minute and listen, research a little, and then try something different.
Maybe the keto/carnivore way won’t end up being your thang in the end, but if you’ve never investigated, why not investigate it? There’s no program to sign up for, no cult to become a part of, no special food or supplements you have to buy to be “part of the club”. This all involves real food, made by the hands of God! We find this is completely sustainable and effective! I wish I had known about this years ago… Maybe my dad would still be around and not have fallen prey to cancer… Maybe my mom wouldn’t have wound up with debilitating dementia. I don’t know, but I believe proper diet is absolutely essential if we hope to have a shot at good health. It won’t come in a magic pill or from a doctor’s prescription. We’ve gotta learn to be smart and then put a little action to the knowledge we receive. God bless you!
